Message Talking apples and apples, you've thrown and orange into the mix.

What size were the Koings? For a given size, say 16x8.5 like the stock TT rears (if memory serves), and same size tires, the forged wheel will be stronger, and in most cases lighter, than the cast. Its the not so everyday occurance (if you've ever hit that pothole that makes you go "JESUS CHR!ST WTF WAS THAT) that will make you happy you have really strong wheels.

Coming back from Chris (NJ)'s BBQ, I was getting off at a rest stop in north jersey. The off ramp split and the sign was late in the turn, so I had to bear right quickly. In the triangle dividing the two sides was this abyss which I hit with my drivers side tire. I sharted, then checked the wheel when we parked. Perfect. For curiosity, I'd like to do that again, (in someone else's Z :) ) wiith a cast wheel of the same size.

Also, when you change tire size, you sacrifice things like road feedback and turn in sharpness for ride quality. Not a bad thing, but there are pros and cons to each set up.
